Hey all!
Hope things are going good for you all. Things are going well over
here. We had a lesson with T. on Monday, and that went well.
We watched a conference talk, then just kind of talked a little bit.
We're going over to his house to do some service this week, help him move some
boxes. We're also gonna start working with him on Family History soon so
he'll be able to take some names to the temple. Super cool. We weren't
able to have a ton of lessons outside of that this last week, but we've got a
few set up for this week. We're working on setting up with O. for
sometime this week, hoping that happens. We also have a couple meetings
with W. this week, so we're gonna continue the recent convert lessons with
him. He's doing well, continuing to grow and make progress. It's
good to see. Looking forward to this week, for sure. This week, I
continued with my study of the Old Testament. I found a verse the other
day that I really enjoyed. It comes from the 8th chapter of Deuteronomy,
where Moses talks with the children of Israel right before their entry into the
promised land:
2 And
thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led
thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his
commandments, or no.
I feel this scripture
provides a great response as to why we receive trials in our lives.
Sometimes the things we go through in life can feel overwhelming, but we have
these difficult times in our lives so we can be humble. How we respond to
these trials shows God how much we love him and how much he can trust us.
I know that Jesus Christ will help us through our trials if we are patient and
rely on him. Hope you all have a solid week!
