Week 88 - Warsaw

Hey y'all!  This week was super good.  It was another quick one for sure.  We had some solid meetings and some solid finding, it was a fun week.

Monday: Elder Dickson and I did an escape room for p-day, which was fun.  We met with K. and taught the Restoration again.  Not sure if he'll make progress anytime soon, but he's a nice guy.  Contacted a bit in the evening.  We talked with some Catholic guy for like 45 minutes, but he unfortunately didn't end up wanting to meet or even take a flier.

Tuesday: We had a couple solid meetings today.  We met with J., our investigator, and that went well.  We taught about being cleansed from sin thanks to Jesus Christ and faith.  He unfortunately will be travelling around until like August or something, so we'll have to wait a bit for him.  Also met with a potential, T..  Pretty good meeting, he's a really humble, nice guy, but he also will be travelling around until Fall.  Gotta love the summer holidays when everyone is traveling.  Weekly planned, then had correlation meeting in the evening.

Wednesday: Had exchanges with the elders from Lublin.  Those were good.  I worked with Elder Wagley in the morning, and we tracted a bit and met with our less-active, D.. With Elder Jabłoński, we studied and met with a potential, A.. Went well, we'll see if we can set up another meeting with him hopfully.

Thursday: Zone conference!  That was way good.  President Turek had some good things to say about the Holy Ghost and blocking out interference from the adversary.  We did some role plays as well, which were good.  Studies in the evening.

Friday: Did quite a bit of contacting today, and it went pretty dang well.  I enjoyed it.  Met some good people and got some numbers.  Also met with P. in the evening and talked about the law of chastity.  I think it went pretty well.  He'll be out of town for a bit, so we'll see how things go.

Saturday: Fun day.  We did some studies in the morning, then taught our English class around noon. Went well, we had some new people there, so that was good to see.  The spiritual thought afterward went well as well.  We also had Sports Saturday, went and played some flag football with the same guys as last week, which was way fun.  They're good guys.  Finished studies in the evening, as well as called some people in the area book.

Sunday: Church was good today.  Elder Rassmussen had a bomb lesson in gospel principles about the sacrament.  We met with P., the recent convert, afterwards and talked about the priesthood.  It went well.  We also met with a potential who we contacted on Friday, K. The lesson was a little different, but it went well and said he'll read the Book of Mormon and we can meet next Sunday.

Good things are happening here.  We've got a number of potentials, hoping we can get in contact with them soon and keep going with them.  Hope y'all have a great week!

Week 87 - Warsaw

Hey there y'all!  This week was a really good one.  It went by fast, as they all seem to.

Monday: It was a pretty good day.  We went to the church and played some good old basketball with the other missionaries for p-day.  That was a ton of fun.  We taught our English class in the evening and helped out with branch FHE, which was good.

Tuesday:  We went to the legal office in the morning and did some legal work which was about as exciting as it sounds.  We had a couple meetings fall through, so we did some contacting and had coordination meeting in the evening

Wednesday: Today we had a conference with some of the other missionaries here in Warsaw.  It was a good one, good to see some of the other missionaries I hadn't seen in a while.  We also taught English class in the evening.

Thursday: We went contacting in the morning and afternoon, which was good.  Also had a meeting with D., our less-active, which was alright.  Did some more contacting in the evening.

Friday: It was a pretty busy day today.  We went and visited a friend of the church, M., in a hospice in the morning.  He's a nice guy.  We met with M. in the afternoon, along with P. and K. in the evening.  Those meetings went alright for the most part.  M. likes the Book of Mormon so far and wants to be baptized, so we'll help him progress to that point, helping him understand things.

Saturday: Saturday was a pretty sick day.  We taught English class around noon, then we went and had our Sports Saturday at some park.  We got in contact with the official flag football team of Warsaw and ended up playing with them, which was a ton of fun.  It was good playing with all the other missionaries and some potentials.  Also had a lesson with P., our recent convert.  Showed him family history, which was fun.

Sunday: Pretty good day.  Church went well.  P., our investigator, ended up coming and enjoying it, so that was pretty positive.  Had a meeting with some of the other missionaries to plan some stuff for this week.  Did studies and some contacting in the evening.

Yea, it was a good week, and we're looking forward to what this week has in store.  It's hotter than ever here in Warsaw haha.  Hope y'all have a good week!

Week 86 - Warsaw

Elder Jake Hadfield and Elder Toone

Welcome Home, Elder Pettit! Lucas Pettit and the Hadfields

Elder Mitch Dickson's parents and Elder Jake Hadfield's parents
Hey everyone!

This week was another good week, quick and fun.  Had a good mount of meetings as well as some good finding.

Monday: We had a good p-day.  We spent a lot of the p-day with a couple of missionaries going home.  Elder Pettit was one of them, he trained me over a year ago, which is crazy to think about.  He's such a good man.  We also taught English in the evening.

Tuesday: We visited a potential in the morning, but she didn't have any time.  Did some weekly planning, and in the evening we were going to have coordination meeting with the branch mission leader, but he ended up not being able to make it.  So we just went out and contacted a little more.

Wednesday: Had dsitrict meeting in the morning, which was pretty good.  We went to lunch afterward with the office elders and got some KFC at the mall.  Elder Erickson is a sick guy.  We also had meetings with K. and P., two of our investigators.  The one with K. was a little rough, but he did bring a couple of his friends, so we'll see if that can go anywhere.

Thursday:  We had exchanges today with the elders from Białystok, which was fun.  I got to do some missionary work with Elder Dossett in my group, and that was way fun.  We went tracting in the morning, and there were 3 grandmas outside the block we were tracting, and they were having a FIT that we were tracting there.  They yelled at us saying people were still sleeping (the time was about 11:30 in the morning) and that we needed to be more cultured.  People sometimes... Met briefly with D., our less-active, and then met with B.. He's officially a new investigator and seems open, so we'll see how things go with him.

Friday: Did some contacting earlier, then had a meeting with P., our recent convert.  We're working with him on preparing for the priesthood, and that's going well.  Also had a meeting in the evening with W., a potential.  That was a really good meeting, we're hoping to meet with him again this week and make him a new investigator.

Saturday:  Saturday was way fun.  We had Sports Saturday in the morning, then we had a branch grill at the chapel.  A lot of members ended up coming, and as missionaries, we were able to get several investigators there.  So that was a good time.  We contacted in the afternoon before coming home for studies.

Sunday:  Pretty basic day.  Had church, Elder Dickson made some delicious chicken for lunch (he's a great cook), did some tracting and studies.

Yea, the week went pretty well.  We're really busy, wouldn't have it any other way.  We're excited for what this week has in store for us. Hope you all have a great week though!

Week 85 - Warsaw

Hey Family,

Don't have a ton of time today because we are going to the train station to meet Elder Pettit and Elder Toone when they come in, and we'll spend some time with them before they leave tomorrow.  So that'll be fun.  But yea, the week was good.  We had some good meetings, not too much happened finding-wise, but we'll see about this week.

Yesterday was good, we had our less-active, D, in church.  It was some kind of district conference, which was cool.  There was a transmission from Church HQ with Elder Uchtdorf and some other general authorities.

Super cool that Ben goes into the MTC this week.  I'll be praying for him, hope that he enjoys it and has a great time.

Love you all!
